It is the journey, not the destination, that one enjoys!

On 27th August, 2017 my long cherished dream of becoming an IAS officer came to a fulfilling end as I became an Officer Trainee of the 92nd Foundation Course at the hallowed Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (famously LBSNAA).

After the paper work and registration, I went to visit my allotted hostel- Kaveri.

I was allotted an IRS roomate from Maharashtra and with each passing day, I seem to have got really thick with the learned lady who has previously worked as a tehsildar in Amravati. Below is our room label.

After some visiting, I headed to the mess. The mess bears a resonant wall hanging bearing the academy’s motto- Sheelam Param Bhooshanam (Character is the highest virtue).

The food in the mess is nothing like what we get in our engineering colleges. Hygiene is of paramount importance to the mess.

Post lunch, we had a session in the common auditorium for general guidelines and deliberations. It was an opportunity for fellow OTs to interact with each other. I personally met some who had known me through Quora.

And as the day dawned, we headed to our respective rooms only to gear up for a rollercoaster ride spanning over 90 eventful days.

As I pen down this thought on the 22nd day in the academy, I realise that the academy teaches you to be disciplined and to push your limit. I never thought I coughs wake up at 5 in the morning. Now I do PT at that time. I never imagined myself walking on hilly roads, now I trek on mountain slopes. I never thought I would weigh anything less than 65, I’m 60 now 🙂

Life at LBSNAA makes your hardwork worth it.
